A peak into the past
Jona's Past
This stubborn fox has had quite the dark and unfortunate past. One that's shaped her how she is today.
From the Beginning
Birth
This fox was born in rather unnatural way. She is the result of Garlean experiments, her mother was a keeper of the moon who ended up being subject to cruel experiments in an attempt to make a hybrid between said miqo'te and the kamuy found there. Ultimately the results were a success and is how Jona came to be, this explains why she has many Keeper like features such as the fangs and clan mark and why, despite being a fox, her tail isn't as big as others.
She fought hard
As a Child
Her mother was the only parent she really had and shortly after Jona was about old enough to no longer rely entirely on her mom for survival, the scientists quickly killed her off. This would deeply affect the poor girl who would then be subject to many different tests which would lead the scientists to discover interesting things about the mixed species they'd made. This little girl appeared to have strength far greater than most and it was this exact thing that led to...
To just keep running...
The Escape
While the scene of her mother being simply used for what they needed and then discarded after serving her purpose stuck with Jona, it didn't completely break her. The fox swore absolute vengeance on the scientists and anyone around the castrum she was a prisoner in. She bided her time while growing and slowly trying to learn about any time she could get out. Eventually there was one small mistake made by a guard when she was being taken for more testing. His guard was let down, his weapon easy to reach and she took it... the chaos that ensued as she quickly overpowered the other guards and just kept cutting her way until she was free...
Until...
Post Escape
After Jona had made her escape from the castrum, she found herself somewhere in the east, it would take her quite a lot of running before she collapsed and hid herself away just in case anyone came after her. She had no ideas on where to go, where she was or really anything about this outside world that she was just getting to see for the first time.

Finding Civilization
When Jona would wake up she would explore a little, until she managed to find a small village of people, once she found them she pretty much froze as she thought it was over again. Much to her surprise, they at first stared at her with awe at seeing the fox ears and tail as they'd never seen anything of that sort before and they'd quickly take her in and help raise her more. It was in this village that she would grow more into adulthood, helping people and learning how to function in society as a whole.
Now...
Finding Strength
She was constantly stuck with nightmares of her past and was constantly haunted by them. So much dark energy and thoughts that she tried to run away from, so much she wanted to hide from. Eventually as if in a dream said darkness manifested in form to speak to her, it taught her to accept this part of her and to use it to fuel her further growth. She would soon train with this manifestation for as long as it stuck around, learning her way with a great sword and mastering the power of her dark past. Once it was all taught, the manifestation vanished and Jona felt a bit more at peace.

Moving on to...
After her training and after growing enough, she would find herself choosing to leave the village and head towards Kugane, eventually finding herself on the streets there and being quite amazed with the sights she saw. Jona would quickly take a liking to the cuisine that was so easily found along the streets and took to asking some people to teach her. Of course she was met with some backlash, a lot of it, except one old woman.

Her Home
This old woman took Jona in and brought her back to Shirogane in which she owned a rather nice restaurant that the lady lived out of. It was in here that she taught Jona how to cook and practically everything she knew, the strange fox girl wasn't being judged or gawked at for how she looked, she was being accepted and loved. She had found someone that was more like family to her... but all things good come to an end. The old lady would pass and with her passing, Jona would inherit the shop, she swore to do her best to continue the legacy given to her with it.
